Black Student Achievement Program Parent Meeting

Dear Parents/Guardians,
We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health and spirits. BSAP Regional Administrative Coordinator Kimberly
Mitchell-Dismukes invites you to participate in the virtual monthly Black Student Achievement Program (BSAP) Parent
Meeting for Region South. As valued school community members, your voice and engagement are crucial in shaping and
enhancing our support for our Black students.
The BSAP Regional Parent Meetings aim to provide a forum for families of Black students. These meetings are vital in
creating an inclusive and equitable educational environment where all our Black students, from grades UTK to 12, can thrive
academically, socially, and emotionally.
By participating in the monthly meetings, you will have the opportunity to:
1. Review Program Implementation: Engage in meaningful discussions about the BSAP program's effectiveness,
identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
2. Share Perspectives: Provide valuable insights, experiences, and perspectives that can contribute to the ongoing
development and refinement of our support for Black students.
3. Collaborate and Network: Connect with other parents, educators, and community members who are equally
dedicated to promoting the success and well-being of our Black students.
4. Advocate for Change: Learn about resources that support equitable educational experiences for Black students.
5. Foster Community Engagement: Strengthen the partnership between home and school, creating a shared
commitment to achieving excellence and addressing the unique needs of our Black student population.
The monthly meetings will be held on the following dates: 10/12/23, 11/9/23, 2/8/24, 3/14/24, and 5/19/24 from 6:00 to
7:00 PM. To ensure the safety and convenience of all participants, these meetings will be conducted virtually using a secure
online platform. ZOOM Link: https://lausd.zoom.us/j/89314930369.
We encourage parents/guardians of Black scholars in grades UTK-12 to attend, as we believe in fostering a representative
and inclusive committee that reflects the diversity within our student body.
Thank you for your commitment and dedication to our students. We look forward to working with you on the BSAP Parent
Advisory Committee.
Sincerely,
Kimberly Mitchell-Dismukes
